Hebron Public Schools is an award winning school district for children in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. The commitment our district has to its public schools is evident in the outstanding programs we offer our students. The district's long history of success is the result of the collaborative efforts of our entire community. Hebron Elementary School was awarded Blue Ribbon status by the United States Department of Education and our Hebron Early Childhood Center was awarded National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation.
Dr. Baird leads the development and implementation of the District Advancement Plan. Drawing from his past experience as a Board of Education member in Massachusetts, he forged a strong working relationship with our Board of Education. He views school district governance as a partnership of the Board and Administration. Dr. Baird oversees administration, teach and learning, facilities and technology development, and human resources for our district.
Contributing to the field of education is important to our Superintendent. Dr. Baird supervises administrator internships and teaches education leadership courses for the Sixth-Year Educational Leadership program at Central Connecticut State University. Dr. Baird chairs the University Region Superintendents Association (URSA) and serves on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents (CAPSS). He has held those roles since 2024. Dr. Baird became Chair of Region 8 Health & Medical Insurance Consortium in 2026 after serving as Vice Chair since 2022.
Dr. Baird was appointed Superintendent of Schools on December 12th, 2019. He previously served as an Assistant Superintendent, STEM Director, Mathematics Supervisor, Assistant Principal, Department Chair and taught Mathematics for 10 years. He received his Doctoral Degree in Education Leadership from Central Connecticut State University, Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Leadership from Westfield State University, Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Keene State College and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Pure Mathematics from Keene State College.
